DIGITAL LIBRARIES IN ROMANIA
Most schools in Romania do not have a digital library yet. There were different projects funded by EU through POSDRU structural funds, which aimed at creating digital libraries on certain topics (school failure, parents-children conflicts). These libraries were published on the internet, but they weren´t promoted in schools. There is a beginning with the digital record, which includes the students' marks, this way every parent checking his or her child's marks.

Sweden; we want to organize our work in digital libraries at school both for students and teachers. It is important to have the possibility of having access to all material for studying both for students and teachers 24/7. We also want to have access to all kind of learning resources like encyclopedias, documentary material, films and so on. We can also get support by audio resoruces together with text and pictures. It is possible for the student to repeat as a learning method.
As a teacher you do not have to use paper copies for teaching.
Parents can also follow their child´s school work.

Scotland Digital Libraries
Scottish institutions, schools and colleges, are now trying to upgrade their traditional library resources, to make them digital libraries. Some institutions have successfully converted libraries into digital centres, or combined these, but many schools lack the resources necessary to do this. In 2009 in the school sector a national intranet called GLOW was introduced to address some of these problems and to make digital resources and an intranet available to schools. There was a slow uptake of GLOW at first, however now that initial technical problems have been resolved GLOW is gaining momentum.
Colleges have access to a national e-book collection which they must subscribe to. The e-books that are available are, however geared towards academic education rather than vocational education.
